Notice of Budget Committee Meeting and Public Hearing
A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the City of Cottage Grove, Lane County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 will be held virtually with limited space in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 400 Main Street. The meeting will take place on the 5th day of May 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget. A copy of the Budget Document may be inspected or obtained on or after April 30, 2020 at 400 Main Street, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or online. To review the budget in person, please call the Finance Department to arrange a time for pick-up.
This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. The meeting will include a public hearing to discuss possible uses of state revenue sharing funds.
Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee. Governor Brown’s Executive Order No. 20-16 directs local government bodies to hold public meetings and hearings by telephone or electronic means whenever possible. The order waives in-person requirements for public testimony if testimony can be provided by telephone or electronic means. For additional information on how to connect to the meeting visit the agenda on www.cottagegrove.org available on April 30, 2020. Limited space for no more than 10 people will be available in the City Council Chambers to meet social distancing requirements if you are unable to attend by electronic means. Written testimony can also be submitted by 3:00 p.m. to the City Recorder on the date of the hearing. To email written testimony send to cityrecorder@cottagegrove.org.
After the budget message has been delivered, and the presentation of the budget has been made, the Budget Meeting may be recessed until May 12th, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. for further deliberation if needed.
