The Historic Landmark Commission is seeking to fill two positions on the Commission. One position that expires at the end of the year and one vacant position. Applicants for the Historic Landmark Commission must have a demonstrated positive interest, knowledge, or competence in historic preservation. The current incumbent on the Commission is eligible to apply.
The Historic Landmark Commission is a five(or more)-member City Council appointed body that reviews applications for alteration or destruction of historic landmarks within the City of Cottage Grove. They also assist staff in developing an annual work plan aimed at fostering and furthering historic preservation in the City of Cottage Grove. Members serve a three-year term of appointment, and meet on an as-needed basis in the evening. The City Council makes every effort to appoint persons with experience in historic preservation, architectural history, history or a related field.
