Councilor Ward 1 - Chalice Savage
Councilor Chalice Savage was appointed on March 8th, 2021 (National Women’s Day) for the remainder of the Ward 1 City Councilor term ending December 31, 2022. In November 2022, she was elected to the Council for a 4-year term.
Councilor Savage and her husband have lived in Cottage Grove since 2014 after choosing this community as their forever home where they would raise their three kids. The experience that she is bringing to this position comes from a previous career in the medical field working in an outpatient Psychiatry Unit for OHSU as well as serving as a board member with a local non-profit working with families who have a member with a disability. Councilor Savage strives to advocate for those navigating confusing systems.
In December 2022, Councilor Savage was appointed as a Director for the League of Oregon Cities (LOC), was voted into a 2-year position on the LOC’s Finance Committee, joined the Diversity/Equity and Inclusion Committee and became a member of the Oregon Woman’s Caucus.
Councilor Savage is active in building relationships across the City, County, State and Nation for the greater good of the Cottage Grove community. Councilor Savage is currently on the Cottage Grove Budget Committee, Vision Keepers, Urban Forestry Management Plan and is a City Representative at the Chamber of Commerce board meetings.
