Internet Purchase Exchange Location

Purchasing items from the internet has become a great way to find items you need or want, whether that is through an established business's websites or from private individuals.  

Around the country there have been some news stories of people arranging to meet with individuals to purchase or sell items and the meeting did not go as planned.  There have been assaults, robberies and other instances where the meeting was only a cover to commit a crime.  

Councilor Amy Slay had a citizen suggest an Internet Purchase Exchange Location that could provide some elements of extra safety for internet arranged meetings could be held.  The City of Cottage Grove is proud to announce that the first such Internet Purchase Exchange Location in Lane County has been established in Cottage Grove in the City Hall parking lot.  

The location is located on the east side of City Hall just outside the Police Department.  It is signed and a video camera records activity at the site.
