Yard of the Week

The 2024 Yard of the Week has started. Below is information regarding eligibility and how to nominate a residence to be recognized. 

The Yard of the Week program was established in June,1998 to recognize those within the community that take pride in the appearance of their yard and do their part to beautify the community. The program runs annually from the first full week in May to the last full week in September. Yards will be selected each week from nominations received. To nominate a yard for Yard of the Week:

• You can call the City Hall (942-5501) or Chamber of Commerce (942-2411);
• Write a letter to the City or Chamber of Commerce;
• Personally visit the City Hall or Chamber of Commerce and submit your nomination;
• Email your nomination to the City Recorder (at cityrecorder@cottagegrove.org) or Chamber of Commerce (at ceo@cgchamber.com)

All single family residences within the City of Cottage Grove are eligible for the program.  To encourage more participation and recognize more homes within the community, all recipients of the Yard of the Week must wait two years before receiving the award again.  

Recipients of the Yard of the Week award will be given a credit for one month of water consumption from the City and a gift certificate from the Chamber of Commerce good at local businesses.
