Past Elections

Three seats on the Cottage Grove City Council and the office of Mayor were filled by voters in the November 8, 2022 General Election. 

The Mayor’s position is a two-year term and the Councilor positions are four-year terms. The Mayor position was held by Jeff Gowing; the Councilor at Large position by Mike Fleck; Ward 1 by Chalice Savage and Ward 3 was vacant. 

Elected to Office of Mayor, Candace Lamb Solesbee; Councilor At-Large, Mike Fleck; Ward 1, Chalice Savage and Ward 3, Dana Merryday. 

 

Three seats on the Cottage Grove City Council and the office of Mayor were filled by voters in the November 3, 2020 General Election.  The Mayor’s position is a two-year term and the Councilor positions are four-year terms. The Mayor position is currently held by Jeff Gowing; the Councilor at Large position is currently held by Kenneth Roberts; Ward 2 is vacant and Ward 4 is held by Greg Ervin.

Four seats on the Cottage Grove City Council and the office of Mayor will be filled by voters in the November 6, 2018 General Election.  The Mayor’s position is a two-year term and the Councilor positions are four-year terms, with the exception of the Ward 4 position. The Ward 4 position will serve the remainder of the current four-year term until December 31, 2020.  The Mayor position is currently held by Jeff Gowing; the Councilor at Large position is currently held by Mike Fleck; Ward 1 is held by Jake Boone; Ward 3 is held by Garland Burback and Ward 4 is held by Greg Ervin.

November 8, 2016 General Election

Three seats on the Cottage Grove City Council and the office of Mayor will be filled by voters in the November 8th General Election.  The Mayor’s position is a two-year term and the Councilor positions are four-year terms.  The Mayor position is currently held by Thomas Munroe; the Councilor at Large position is currently held by Kenneth Michael Roberts; Ward 2 is held by Jeff Gowing; and Ward 4 is held by Amy Slay.

At the May 23, 2016 City Council meeting the Cottage Grove City Council voted to place on the November 8, 2016 General Election a ballot measure to create a 3% tax on Recreational Marijuana items.

The City received a number of requests regarding information about the upcoming Special Election on March 13, 2012.  As a result, the City published a Cottage Grove Voters’ Pamphlet.  The Voters’ Pamphlet is similar to the type of publication that the State Elections Division produces for state elections.  Citizens were able to submit arguments favoring or opposing the measures.  The voters’ pamphlet will be mailed to every household within the City prior to receiving the ballots for the March 13, 2012 Special Election.
