Research Databases

Your Library provides you with access to thousands of magazines, journals and databases--that's literally millions of articles. Below is a list of recommended databases for elementary and middle school aged children. Note: you will need your library card number to access these databases. For a complete list of databases, see our full Gale Product Menu.

Gale in Context: Elementary
Gale In Context: Elementary, formerly Kids InfoBits, gradually lets elementary school children gain comfort with research by delivering age-appropriate, reliable, curriculum-related content covering a broad range of subjects taught in the classroom like animals, arts and music, social studies, and more. Unlike other classroom databases, Elementary offers kids through grade 5 a platform with rich visuals that will encourage their natural curiosity and get them excited about learning.

Gale in Context: Middle School

Created specifically for middle school students, Gale In Context: Middle School combines the best of Gale's reference content with age-appropriate videos, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, and much more. Categories cover a range of the most-studied topics including cultures, government, people, U.S. and world history, literature, and many more.

National Geographic Kids

National Geographic Kids will take young students on amazing adventures in science, nature, culture, archaeology, and space. National Geographic Kids includes the complete run of the magazine from 2009 to the present, as well as books, videos, and images. High-quality informational texts are available for primary, upper elementary, and middle school English Language Arts, social studies, and science classrooms.
