To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our more vulnerable members of the community, the City of Cottage Grove held the public meetings virtually. In order to follow social distancing guidelines the City Council Chambers was limited to 10 people at a time. Written testimony could also be submitted by 3:00 pm to the City Recorder on the date of the meeting by email, sent to cityrecorder@cottagegrove.org.

After receiving the Budget Message and reviewing the Proposed Budget the Committee took action to approve the budget and recommended approval to the City Council. The Approved Budget was presented to the City Council for their final review and consideration for adoption on June 22, 2020. At that meeting, the Council held two public hearings, one to receive comment regarding the Uses of State Shared Revenues, and a public hearing concerning the Budget. Staff made recommendations to change the budget to balance transfers out with transfers in within six different funds. Additional grant funds were also scheduled to be spent. The changes are outlined in the Adopted Budget on page vi.
The City Council adopted Resolution No. 2021, Adopting the 2020-21 Budget, Making Appropriations, and Imposing and Categorizing Ad Valorem Taxes. The resolution is included in the Appendix of the Adopted Budget.
